Our charger tip burned up on our vehicle-brand charger, causing charging faults. I read that the tips that you can buy for the end of your existing "hose" are more complicated to install. With the cable / tip combo, the hookup inside the charger is very simple, just four wires, so it would be hard to misconfigure. This cable is thinner than my original, and it does get noticeably warmer to the touch when full charging, but it does not get hot. It is rated for the max current of my unit, and it has worked reliably after two months with daily use. I would buy it again as a solution to a similar problem.
